Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNO): MLA Langate Sheikh Khursheed on Tuesday expressed concerns over the absence of line duty officials, while reviewing snowfall-related challenges across his constituency.
Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Khursheed said, “I have taken up the matter with commissioner secretary and DC Kupwara and action will hopefully be taken as per rules."
He said, “Out of 36, 25 employees including Executive Officer were not present at Municipal Committee Langate. Only four employees were on field, while 7 were present in the office.”
The MLA, however, appreciated frontline workers and daily wagers for their round-the-clock efforts, noting they were "on their toes and working till midnight."
Expressing satisfaction with snow clearance operations, he said, “Everything was handled professionally. Priority 1 and 2 roads are now through, with priority 3 roads to be cleared by tomorrow.”
On power supply, the MLA said, “Receiving stations are charged and service is up to mark, though some far-flung sub-feeders await restoration.”
